It was decided in late 1998 that there should be a clan for the crapper Quake 2 players in the UK. Clan 666 was formed but after consideration it was decided that this was far too serious a name for a clan of its nature.
Clan SPAM was formed shortly afterwards. Its name relates either to all that lovely junk email that we all receive or to our favourite pressed meat product. No one knows.
Clan SPAM meet regularly in irc to chat and tryout new games, During the past 11 years that clanspam has been running, we have competed in many league competitions including SAVAGE Q2CTF, Q2DM UKCCL, Q2 LITHIUM LEAGUE, BWRA2L, BWRA3L, SAVAGE Q3DM, SAVAGE RA3 and SAVAGE RA2 League.
Since then we’ve remained a strong group of friends and gamers who still continue to meet up online (and occasionally offline) to play all the latest and greatest games the PC gaming scene can throw at us.

The clan was formed to be somewhere where it’s members could go and enjoy themselves. We don’t take all this very seriously and are just out for some fun. It’s also good to remember that the best way to have fun is by winning!
